Welcome! I’m Melissa Jackson, a Georgia native who fell in love with the beauty of the mountains and the charm of Big Canoe. Four years ago, my husband and I moved to this incredible area from nearby Canton. I recently decided to leave behind a career in the tech industry to focus on what I love most—helping others enjoy this special place I now call home. As a mom of three grown children and an avid traveler myself, I understand the value of a relaxing getaway and the importance of having everything you need, without the hassle of getting it yourself.

During my time here, I’ve noticed how navigating these winding roads, especially within Big Canoe, can make a simple grocery run feel like a journey. Depending on where you’re at, it can take 5 to 20 minutes just to reach a gate, followed by a drive to the nearest grocery store. I realized that visitors might rather spend their time savoring the experience than tackling errands, and so, Retreat Ready Essentials was born.

My goal is simple: to make your arrival as seamless and welcoming as possible, with your essentials already in place. From fresh produce to your favorite snacks, I’m here to stock your kitchen so you can walk in, unwind, and enjoy every moment of your stay.
